The Program Manager provides consulting, software implementation leadership, and project oversight to clients in the Residential and Commercial Real Estate and Real Estate Investment Management sectors. This role blends traditional project management with program level coordination, business analysis, and user training/support.
While the position requires the capability to manage large, complex implementation programs when needed, most work will focus on small to medium sized projects and internal initiatives that support organizational goals. The ideal candidate is a hands on leader who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and driving execution. Candidates with experience implementing leading real estate software platforms (Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, etc.) or ERP solutions (e.g., JD Edwards) are strongly preferred. Responsibilities
Program & Project Management - Coordinate cross-functional resource planning by tracking availability, monitoring utilization, and keeping capacity and assignments up to date across team
- Oversee program level activities, dependencies, and risks across related projects and teams to ensure alignment with organizational objectives
- Facilitate internal initiatives that improve delivery processes, tools, and operational efficiency
- Provide oversight and governance for small to medium client projects, with the ability to scale up to large, enterprise level programs when required.
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, timelines, and resource allocations across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Manage scope, change control, and risk mitigation across projects and programs.
Client & Team Leadership - Set and manage expectations with clients and internal teams; lead status meetings and facilitate project discussion
- Manage and coach cross functional project teams consisting of functional, technical, and client resources
- Build strong relationships with senior level stakeholders (Directors, VPs, C suite, Owners).
Solution Delivery - Analyze client business needs and translate them into requirements, specifications, and configuration plans.
- Oversee system configuration, software customization, integration activities, and data validation
- Manage testing cycles, user acceptance, and rollout activities to ensure successful adoption.
- Apply deep knowledge of real estate industry best practices to guide clients and influence solution design.
Consulting & Growth - Identify opportunities to expand client value through additional services or product capabilities.
- Mentor peers and team members on industry knowledge, product expertise, and consulting skills.
Skills & Requirements - Significant experience with leading real estate software systems (investment management, asset management, property management, accounting)
- Prior consulting or team leadership experience strongly preferred
- Experience implementing real estate software systems with medium to high complexity
- Ability to manage multiple small to mid size projects ($100k–$500k) and the capability to lead large scale initiatives (>$1MM) when needed
- Strong understanding of real estate, financial, and IT management best practices
- Familiarity with project and program management methodologies; PMP certification is a plus.
- Strong technical aptitude and experience working with enterprise software systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.
- Ability to navigate complex, politically sensitive client environments.
- Skilled in managing blended teams including internal staff, client personnel, and external consultants.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Applicants must have the ability to travel to client sites on a consistent basis, as required.
